After studying Jazz at the Royal Academy of Music, Alistair released his debut album, Oblivion (Unit Records, 2021), a fusion of jazz quintet tradition with elements of hip hop and electronic music. The album, inspired by social and political themes like climate change and conflict, earned critical acclaim from publications including Jazzthing, Jazz’n’More, and Concerto Magazine, and has been streamed over 250,000 times on Spotify.
Alistair’s upcoming album, MONOMYTH 1K, draws inspiration from Joseph Campbell’s The Hero with a Thousand Faces, reflecting his passion for blending narrative storytelling with improvised music.
A sought-after performer, Alistair regularly collaborates with groups such as Tom Smith’s Big Band, Shirley Smart’s Sextet, and Mornington Lockett. In 2023, he was commissioned by the Royal College of Music Junior Department to compose and perform a new work for Big Band, further showcasing his exceptional talent as a composer.
